This lady says she was born 1864 in Finchley, in the 3 censuses I have her in.
She married George Jay in Poplar in 1885, her father was Thomas, a sawyer (i think)

They were still there in 1891 - Piece: 334, Folio: 106

And 1901- Piece: 356, Folio: 58, Page number: 34, Household schedule number: 168

In Bermondsey in 1911- Registration District Number: 24, Sub-registration District: Rotherhithe, ED, institution, or vessel: 05, Piece: 1918

I'm having trouble working out which is her birth and identifying the right parents in censuses. I wonder if anyone might be able to help me find a clue

I cannot find an Annie Green with father Thomas on any previous census.

On the m/c is a witness W Francis Green.
A William Francis Green married 6/4/1890 to Emily Parr
He gives his father's name as Thomas Green, Timber Merchant
On the 1901 census William Francis give his pob as Barnet Herts b 1866
On the 1871 census in Barnet is a William Green b1801 Northamptonshire, wife Martha b1814 Hertfordshire
    William is a sawyer
They have 2 grandchildren with them, Elizabeth b1863 & William b1865
    RG10/1332/111/22
A birth is reg. for William Francis in Barnet in 1865 3a 124 Mar qtr 1865 gives a mmn Smith

I have to go out now but will look further after dinner, if no-one else has added anything.

Ooh good spot, those are great finds, thank you

It's certainly possible. But in the 1871 census MollyMay found is an Elizabeth Green. I'm thinking that could be Annie Elizabeth

I think I have her parents Thomas Green born 1840 marrying Ann Smith born 1839, in 1861 in Friern Barnet. His father is William a sawyer, hers is Joseph a grocer. They then elude me again. I though Annie Green was difficult, but Ann Smith!

In 1861 there is a widowed William Green in Finchley, Barnet with son Thomas b 1846 Northamptonshire. Both are timber pit sawyers.

In 1871 there is a widowed Thomas Green b 1840, sawyer, in Barnet.

I think in 1851 William b 1806 Potterspury could be in Hadley , Middlesex with wife Susannah, and Thomas may be the Thomas Green b1844 visitor with the Bromley family, South Mimms, Barnet.

Snap! Just found it as well and came to the same conclusion, Martha in the census seems to be a second wife.
