Another interpretation help please.

I would appreciate help with a couple of items in this Aythorpe Roding Essex PR image which according to Ancestry's Essex Parish Register Index it reads:-

Buried George of Beniamin Angella Stoakes September 26th, it's the last entry on the first page.

I am not sure about Angella and I can't make out the day well enough.

I'm not too concerned about the 26th but I would certainly like to know if it is Angella or what.

If it is a case of being George son of Benjamin and Angella then I have some more searching to do, that entry is the only Sto(a)kes entry I noticed with a mother named Angella, not saying there weren't more though.

It looks like September 26th to me and I can see why the transcription says Angella, but none of the other A's on the page have that loop on the top, could it be a P? I could not see another P on the page to compare though.

I agree with MM that it doesn't start with an A, but other than that I have no clue as to what it is. Sorry, I wasn't that much help.:(

Looks like little George was buried 20 Sept 1676 father Benjamin no mother listed. Sorry, no mother listed on Freereg.

The problem is at present I've only come across two couples where the husband is Benjamin (aka Beniamin) Sto(a)kes, the names of their wives are Dorothy nee Wood and Mary, I think this is Mary Bnlock? who married Benjamin Stoakes 2 Nov 1713 at Lt Leighs. If I could have found children with a father named Benjamin and a mother named anything but Dorothy or Mary, it might have solved the problem.

At the end of the day George is not an ancestor but possibly a sibling

I am thinking part of the problem is that in the 1600s perhaps there was more movement between counties plus the turbulent times in the 1600s perhaps causing records to be omitted.

I did btw try the FMP initial search for George but there was nothing in the !676 + & - 10 years in fact no Georges until the 1700s
