Does anyone know if there are newspapers for the Channel Islands available?
I am looking for a death announcement or an obituary for 1934.

    Arthur Henry Coombe/s
Died age 45 on 24 May 1934 at the Memorial Hospital, Alderney.
    Death certificate just says:
    Accidental Death - Inquest 24 May 1934
No reason is given but he was a Quarryman and I wonder if there was an accident.

Poor man served in the Royal Navy from boy to man 1905 - 1932 and seems to have been killed just a couple of years after leaving the RN. Murphy's Law? :(

    Thanks Ma,
I had tried those two but the first link is the British Library and I think you need to visit to view their collections.
I cannot see any archives listed in the second link. :(

I'll take another wander around them, I may have missed something.

Perhaps the Alderney Society Museum would be able to advise:

There are a lot of British online. Whether they cover your date you would have to check.
If you have a UK library card they are free to use. Google to find website as I can't remember URL British Library newspapers. You could also check if there are any covering the Channel Islands specifically

Have had a look, but can't see any papers specifically for the Channel Islands on the online British Newspaper Archive. I would think some of the mainland papers would have 'news from the Channel Islands'....will have a rootle round later:)
