For those interested in the history of the Australian Army I can recommend browsing through the resources provided by the Australian Army's 'Our History' web site at http://www.army.gov.au/Our-history and in particular the Australian Army History Unit's web site at http://www.army.gov.au/Our-history/Army-History-Unit . I once had the privilege of working with a Colonel who was one of the history unit's oral historians (he was also a civilian consultant). He travelled to all sorts of places to interview our soldiers and officers - an amazing resource for future generations!

The How to Research Family History web page also provides some useful pointers, see http://www.army.gov.au/Our-history/How-to-Research-Family-History .
