I think I have found a rather exciting discovery, but I can't find the entry to read it Ancestry has Mary Ann Magent being baptised 16 July 1780 at St Mary Magdalen, Bermondsey. Parents Xtopher and Sarah Magent I think it is probably Nugent, but I can't check because when I look at the actual page, I can't see the entry. It doesn't seem to have much relation to the transcriptions below to me, and looks like the wrong page. FMP has not been helpful to me Can anyone work out where the correct page may be hiding, or are my eyes playing tricks?
It is on the page (and it does look like Nugent) Follow the number 16 in the second column - the next entry on 19th is Rachel Wright
Ah yes, my eyes, thank you. Do you think the father is Stephen, or could it be Christopher? (which I was hoping it was) I have has an x being Christ in the name Christmas before, and the last letter has a curl on it like the r in tower but not the n in John (hopefully)
Well done, that took some sleuthing, you were probably too excited to see the entry, but as Sue said, the entries were all over the shop.
@annabel, if you cannot find the entry on the page tap the bottom of the page on people silhouette (next to the film strip) and the transcription comes up and the page moves to where the original the entry is (I am not explaining it very well) - sometimes finding the entry before or after helps too. Glad it was your family
