BBC Sound Archive at The British Library

Does anyone have experience of accessing the BBC Sound Archive at The British Library and if so, what did it entail, what are the costs?

My great grandfather had very small 'spots' on the radio during the late 1930's, 40's. He also recorded songs as he was a singer/musician. I've been able to acquire one 78rpm vinyl record. I wrote to the Desmond Carrington Show (BBC Radio 2) to see if he had recordings in his collection but unfortunately didn't but they did supply me with a list of songs that my GGF recorded and suggested TBL.

I know the National Sound Archive at the British Library. They are very good indeed. I'm not aware that they have access to everything in the BBC Sound Archive per se** but I think a straightforward enquiry to them is almost certain to get a considered reply.
