Jane Boden/Bodin married George Walker (a Wheelwright) around 1834 to 1837 but I cannot find a record and only obtained her probable surname from a certified copy of their daughter Julia's birth certificate. Previously I thought her surname was Donce/Done/Dance from a likely marriage to another George Walker. I know she existed as I have been in contact with 2 distant cousins descended from 2 of her sons, while I am descended from the 3rd son (names Samuel, John and William) and we all found each other independently!

    In the 1841 census
HO107, Piece number 983, Book number 12, Folio number 40, Page number 28
    Wolverhampton Lane, Walsall, Staffordshire

George says he is a Wheelwright.

You say that George Walker married Jane Boden.

They had a son John who was baptised on 2nd September 1843, in the Anglican church of St Peter, Walsall. The address at the time of baptism was Wolverhampton Lane. The father's occupation was Wheelwright. Parents George Walker and Jane.

Under the surname of Walker on the original entry is written HARVEY. There is a note in the margin that says:-

"The name of Walker was changed to Harvey after the register was put in. The father saying on bringing his next child for baptism that his fathers name was Harvey though he commonly went by the name of Walker" it is then signed and dated 7th April 1844

Their son William born (according to the 1851 census) in 1845 was baptised at the same church on 17th August 1845. His surname is entered as Harvey.

There is also a transcript for a Samuel Harvey baptised in the same church on 2 May 1841, parents George and Jane.

    There is a marriage:-

    George Harvey
marriage: 15 July 1832, Saint Marys, Handsworth, Stafford, England
    spouse: Jane Boden

@Murfomurf don't be surprised that William went by the name Walker insted of Harvey. You can chose to go by whatever name you want as long as it's not for fraudulent purposes.

    Could this be Jane's baptism?

    Jane Boden
Baptism date: 26 Sep 1804, Walsall, Staffordshire
    Father: William Boden
    Mother: Sarah

If so, then these could be her brothers and sister - Same parents.

    Mary Boden
Baptism date: 04 Apr 1804, Walsall, Staffordshire

    Samuel Boden
Baptism date: 07 Apr 1806, Walsall, Staffordshire

    Joseph Boden
Baptism date: 02 Jan 1809, Walsall, Staffordshire

OMG!! This is all even more amazing than Eliza Quare/Quaie!! Fancy my surname could have been Harvey all along and avoided all these problems with those pesky and numerous Walkers!
Thank you (??) for all that! <3 <3
