Whilst searching for information on the Army Veterinary Corps I stumbled upon this amazing website regarding all things Military nurses. Even if you aren't researching anyone who might have served, it makes a fascinating browse. There are transcribed war diaries, which give accounts of what nurses faced in theatres of war and lots of other info including advice on how to trace individuals. The website is called Scarlet Finders and the link is here:

Unfortunately, some of the links on that site don't work, although it is a fascinating browse, as you say.
I'm trying to find out about my great grandmother, (Sister?) Mary Till; this is a photo of her, with recuperating soldiers, at the Devonshire Royal Hospital, Buxton, Derbyshire.

Can you tell anything from her uniform? I have other photos of her 'in full sail', as it were!

(a decorative cloth band, often braided or tasseled, worn around the upper arm, as by military personnel to signify a particular group, regiment, etc.)
