Budock, Cornwall Parish Register

I have been stuck for months on Jane Trevithick born 1835 Cambourne and not being able to get back any further. However out of the blue she has popped up on FamilySearch with a few ancestors showing up as well.
The very last one to appear was a Pierre Courrege(s) who married Mary Rowling (Roling) Budock 1762.
I checked the transcribed register and it states that Pierre was at time of marriage a French prisoner of war.
Could someone please let me know which conflict would have him as that in that year.
One other forum said that he was a lieutenant but no hints as to the particular war.
Maybe this should be moved to Military, not sure, but thanks.

I think I got all the details even the name of the minister.
Maybe I could be known as the French Lieutenants (gggggggggrand) Daughter.

 

Here in the States, it was called the French and Indian War, if that helps with your research.

Wikipedia has a piece on the conflict..

It started 1754 but really got going in 1756 and ended with the Treaty of Pariis and the Treaty of Hubertusburg both in 1763. Hence the name - 7 Years War

It was fought in Europe, North and South America, Africa, India and the Philippine Islands.

According to the article some 900,000 to 1,400,000 people died.

For those interested in Canadian history it was in 1771 [I believe] that General Wolfe died near Quebec City at Battle of the Plains of Abraham.
