One of my favourite songs from one of my favourite films ("A Connecticut Yankee In The Court of King Arthur" - I think!)

Well, I've just spent the last hour flicking on the 3 photos that appear when I visit "Top Dog" ... goodness, they're gorgeous!
From a dog in a knitted coat (thanks Archie's Mum) to a limerick (There was a young man from Perth - thanks Nabean) to the most joyful photo of a Gran & baby (thanks Blackmogs).

I just wanted to say THANK YOU to all who have shared their treasures.
And to TOP DOG for providing the facility.

They are wonderful, it is one of my pleasures to look at them, when I first come on site :)

It isn't until you reach a certain age when being 'busy doing nothing' is just the most wonderful thing. I love being 'busy doing nothing'. I love all those memories posted by others as well. Boredom doesn't come into my vocabulary anymore.
Sometimes I think of Mum and how she could just sit on the front porch and watch the world go by, no doubt deep in thought. I'm getting like that myself these days.:) Simple pleasures.

My favourite spot to do nothing is in our woods ( when it is not mosquito season) or just in one of our fields ( where the winds keep the mosquitoes away) as I have been doing this summer. You can solve a lot of life's questions doing nothing.

Do children just lay on the grass looking at the clouds and daydream anymore?
I think they always have to be occupied these days. Shame.

Sounds like my kind of heaven. I could lay in one of your fields....if I could get back up again. My luck to lay where a cow had just been

I love looking at Top Dog albums. Some lovely snapshots, and many I haven't yet seen.

I've just spent about 10-15 mins doing similar while trying to assist some-one frozen in place in an awkward stance, unable to move anywhich way. Then a leg 'gives way' & he drops to a squat so I had to enlist Son's help to get frozen one into his chair.
I'd rather have a stroll in the woods for my doing nothings. ;)

Some photos pop up regularly but then one will appear that I have never seen before, I check it out but it’s been there from the beginning. I love seeing my cheeky granddaughter when she shows up randomly. Cheeky face. :D

That brings back memories, one day in particular comes to mind when I was in my pre teen years. It was in the field near the Bluebell Wood which was fairly close to my home, a friend and I chose to lay down on our backs and watch the clouds, I've no idea why now. The grass was uncut and there was a light wind which made a whistling like noise as it rustled the grass, for some reason the memory has stuck in my mind.

I can also remember another time laying on my back watching the clouds, it would have been when I was about four years old because it was pre WW2. Our family dog, Gyp who I grew up with, had died and my parents told me he had gone up to heaven, for many days I looked at the clouds hoping to spot him.

They are the simple things that stick in your mind. Lovely Derek :)
