can anyone read what is written under the photo

This is a photo of my dad taken sometime during ww2 and it is the only one we have where there is any writing which may give a clue as to what/where/when but as to what it says who knows

First bit looks like 'Wm' - William - or WM? WmSha...

Might it be the photographer's signature?

It could be that, it is certainly not my dad's signature or someone writing his name which is Francis Smith

My first thought was W McMANUS, so then did a Google search for photographers in the 1940's which brought up a list of "Photographers of Great Britain & Ireland 1840-1940" and on that is an entry for McMANUS Brothers, one of whom would appear to be a John from the entry below, but also a couple for William MORRIS! Typical, nothing is easy is it.
