I've been looking for years for a marriage between George Rixson, born 1854 in Northfleet, Kent and Anne (aka Annie) Maria Clark, born 1861, West Ham, Essex registration district. Their first child was born in Essex 1883, West Ham, Essex registration district and baptised St James, Walthamstow, Essex in 1883. Of course they may not have married, but someone just might find one.

    Nope. Nothing even close. :(

Have you found them in the 1881 census - either apart or separate? If they are around in 1911, are there any clues for how many years married?

Had a look on Ancestry but couldn't find them.

I did find another George Rixson marriage which you have most likely found but in case not, here it is.

George Rixson (aged 24) married Sarah Jane Pasterfield (aged 19) 14 May 1883 at Grays Thurrock, Essex, St Peter & St Paul.
    Groom's father: William Rixson.
    Bride's father: Alfred Pasterfield.

The marriage was registered in the Orsett, Essex Registration District in the June quarter of 1883, volume 4a, page 317.

Not much help I suppose, the marriage being around the same time as the one you are looking for.

Just tried a search on another part of Ancestry.com and found these.

    1. Cook County, Illinois, Marriages Index, 1871-1920
      Marriage & Divorce
      Record information.
      Name
      George E. Rixson
      Spouse
      Annie S. Walker
      Birth
      abt year
      Marriage
      dd/mm/year location
    1. Illinois, Marriage Index, 1860-1920
      Marriage & Divorce
      Record information.
      Name
      George Rixson
      Spouse
      Annie L Walker
      Marriage
      dd/mm/year Cook
As I don't have a world wide membership sub with Ancestry I can't access those records

When you click on them a page comes up headed "World Wide Membership".

It's a page about the info available if you take up the subscription, it has a monthly rate of UK pounds 19.99, a yearly rate of 179.99 or a "pay as you view" which costs 9.99 12 records for 14 days.

Apparently the site is operated by Ancestry Ireland Unlimited Company.

What I fail to understand is if the Illinois Marriage Index has that marriage, why didn't they appear in my Ancestry searches, the marriage is obviously in the UK and my Ancestry sub gives me access to UK parish register info. o_O

    I’m stumped as well.
Found George in 1871 with Dad Henry and Mum Hannah. A farm servant.
1891 a general labourerwith Annie and Annie E, Lily, and Emily. George is 46 and Annie is 34.
1901 George is miraculously now aged 47 and Annie is 39. He is a horseman on a farm. Annie 18, Lily 13, Emily 10, George 6, Lucy 3, Robert 1.
1881 there is the George who I believe marries Sara Pasterfield as he is boarding with the Pasterfields. And another George with his wife Amelia. Occupation way off the track.

Bit of a coincidence the George I found had a father named William and the George Sis is looking for had a middle name William. Common enough name William but I'm wondering if there's a link a generation or two back, they do have Essex in common, that could mean anything or nothing. :)

I Dont think they bothered getting married. Unless the spelling is right off. The closest I can get is a Lizzie Clark in Marylebone in 1884 with a George Rixon on the same page.
