Well, quite a few of them actually :D

Frederic[k] Wood married Matilda Mitchell on 12/4/1830 at St Anne, Limehouse
The witnesses were William Mitchell and Louisa Mitchell
I have nothing on theses 2 prior to their marriage

    1841 HO107 p701 bk2 f21 p37 in Eastfield Street sees
    Frederic age 40 labourer, Matilda 35, Louisa 10, Mary 8, Frederic 6, Matilda 3,
    Ann 1 month

Louisa is 'mine' and I have her through to her death - she married Samuel Slatter on 21/1/1851 at All Saints Poplar she gives her father's occ as lighterman - it is the rest of her siblings I am stuck on

    I have found baptisms for
Mary Ann Amelia 28/5/1834 (born 29/1/1834)
    Frederic William 1/1/1837 (born 13/36/1837)
    Matilda 1/7/1838 (born20/5/1838)
All at St Anne Limehouse - father's occ waterman.

    1851 HO107/1554/92/51 Eastfied Street, Limehouse
Frederic b1807 Limehouse labourer, Matilda b1811 Limehouse, Frederic b1836, Matilda b1838, Elizabeth (birth reg as Elizabeth Ann)1841, Joseph b1843, George b1846, Eliza b1849 all born Limehouse - I can see birth reg's (Stepney) for Elizabeth, Joseph, George, Eliza - all the year as stated on census.

There is a death of Frederick Wood 1854 Stepney Dec qtr 1c 471 -the GRO gives an age of 54 so fits

1861 RG09/286/162/22 - John Street, Limehouse - Surname enumerated as Ward
    Matilda b1810 widow, Matilda b1839, Joseph b1844, George b1847, Eliza b1850, John b1852 (birth reg 1852)

There is a death of Matilda Wood Dec qtr 1862 Shoreditch 1c 137 GRO age 56 - so a possible for Matilda the widow
There is a death of Matilda Wood March qtr1863 Stepney (which includes Limehouse) 1c 400 age 23 - so likely to be Matilda the daughter.

I do not seem to be able to find any of the children after 1861.
I think I found Mary in 1851 working as servant, in Limehouse (RG09/1554/234/34) but then nothing.

    Any help gratefully received.

AM - I did see this census but there are several things that bothered me.

Matilda gives her pob as Bristol - on all other census she is consistent with being born in Limehouse Middlesex. On previous census she is listed as a dressmaker whereas on this one she is listed as a grocer. Although the children's names and ages are a reasonable fit.

I have now found the Elizabeth Ann marriage to John Daniel Sinfield and she gives her father as Frederick labourer and the witnesses Eliza Wood and William Mitchell clinch it as being the right family.

Thank you - I have been searching for 2 days and had gone wood blind:headbang:

Maybe she just had a brain snap with the place of birth and had changed her vocation......young Matilda Sinfield slots right in.:)

Just checked the GRO Elizabeth Matilda Sinfield b1868 mmn Wood.

The Bristol pob could just be an error by her or the enumerator (I have not found her birth) but it was the leap from dressmaker to grocer that seemed so unlikely, but it does look like her and the younger children.

Yes, Sue, he was widowed. I'll look for him in 1891 and 1901, think I have him in 1911 in the workhouse.
