Cause of Death?

This is part of the death certificate for one of my Grandmother's brothers, who died in 1894 aged 6 months.

If anyone is able to translate the first word of the cause of death, I would be grateful. :)

The same condition is found for another sibling, who died in 1897 aged 17 days:

Okay... the second one seems to be a little clearer and looks like Pemphigus - watery blisters. :(

That seems to be a strange condition. Any ideas as to what that might be akin to today?
 
It's not something I had come across before
Modern medicine considers it an autoimmune disease
