Does anyone know if there are any marriage records, online for Cheshunt? I am looking for a marriage in 1900. FMP do have up to 1891, and from 1909 but not the intervening years:mad:.
I would be happy with a transcription, I am trying to find the groom's fathers name without having to buy the cert (cheapskate that I am).
The marriage is between Eunice Sarah Woolley and Hans Kristian Hansen (Edmonton 3a 472 - March qtr 1900)

If its registered in Edmonton does,nt that mean you would only get the transcription or certificate there

Cheshunt was, at that time, part of the Edmonton (Middlesex) registration area.
Eunice Sarah was born and baptised in Cheshunt.

There are Cheshunt marriages on FMP for 1900, in the England Marriages 1538-1973 but there is no sign of the marriage you are after. This might mean that it was in a register office.....in which case the only way to get the info would be to buy a certificate :sceptical: Sorry :(

Thank you Ann - I guess to buy the cert is going to be the only way to find the info - it is only money after all:D

It's not my family - it is my little investigation into my cousin's album of unnamed folk.

Ihad a try for a probate but it was another Hans. My word it was a popular name wasn't it? One or two 'trees'sound the same & have Eunice as spouse but many records have an earler wife. Children's names not much help in proving father's name either.
Some interesting documents suggesting 'Hans' as father but I cannot read them. [Rassmus] "Robert" a brother.

Thanks for the link Wendy - goodness what a lot of Han Ch(K)ristian Hansens there were:eek:.

I am going to visit my cousin's wife tomorrow and may gently prod to see if she can remember anything of her Danish family.

Well the visit was a success, I opened a door in her past and she was able to tell me she had been to Denmark in her teens (I already knew that) and Hans came from Gentofte - north of Copenhagen. From Wendy's link (thank you again ():-)) I have ascertained the area as Kobenhavn, Sokkelund, Gentofte but FS have nothing that fits (or have no records for that area). A step forward I think8(:-)

Just to redeem myself, I did find this
    Code:
    https://www.familysearch.org/wiki/en/Gentofte_Parish,_K%C3%B8benhavn,_Denmark_Genealogy
from which there appears to be a free online database of various records which does include Gentofte. If you follow the links there are scans of the parish registers - I don't know how good your Danish is  - but there also appears to be some help in reading them on the main page. Good luck, and you can blame me if it all goes pear shaped :nailbiting:
