Another one of the Saxlingham Nethergate lot, she was baptised 15 Dec, daughter of Edward and Maria

with parents in Saxlingham N in 1851 and 1861, I've found her as a servant in Knightsbridge, London in 1871, though age is a bit off

but I can't find her after this. She didn't marry James Flint in 1872, that was her cousin, daughter of Robert. I hoped she married Henry Youngman in 1876 in Camberwell (Youngman is another Saxlingham Nethergate name, though the only Henry's I have in the tree are younger than this man would be) but I so far can't show that, nor any other marriage possibility .... Help, please

Rootschat enquiry for your Clara Wiseman. Possible marriage to Charles Smith December 1871 Thanet 2a 1491. Possible birth December 1872 Depwade 4b 231 Ellen Jane SMITH mothers maiden name Wiseman.
Ellen Jane was baptised 27 May 1877 born 1872 parents Charles and Clara.
Clara SMITH died 1879 Tharston St Marys Church age 34.
Charles Smith married Alice Maria Rushmore 1880 in Tharston.
1881 census has Charles Smith a blacksmith living in Tharston with wife Alice Maria and daughter Ellen J born 1873.
Please, not researched at all by me. Just what I have read on that forum. But there for you to investigate. Bed time here.

Possibly Wendy, but not found her in 1891 census so think she married before that census

I looked at the Charles Smith marriage, but got distracted by 1881 census of a 'widowed' Clara Smith with two children, who turned out to be nothing of the sort ;). But this looks possible and will look into it :)

    Sleep well ladies

@Archie's Mum seems to have found the answer, it all fits together and my attempts to disprove it have failed so far. It's not 100% certain, as I can't find the marriage cert online to check the bride's father (I think it must be a Registry Office)

I've traced Ellen Jane Smith through to her death in 1925, she never married. On her burial record in Tharston, Norfolk it is noted that there was a Coroner's Inquest, and that she died after a fall. Just wondering if there is anything newspapery to be found ... @AnnB

No sign of a inquest report on Ellen Jane Smith, I'm afraid. I tried everything I could think of including going into 1926 in case the inquest was late being reported. Norfolk isn't that well covered by newspapers for that time :(

    From Tharston Histrical Society Memorials;
In memory of Clara beloved wife of Charles Smith who died July 7th 1879 age 34 years.
    When we asunder part
    It gives us inward pain
But we shall still be joined in heart
    And hope to meet again
    This glorious hope revives
    Our courage by the way
    While each in expectation leaves
And long to see the day. :(

That's a nice poignant poem Sue, I expect a lot of people would think that way.

Personally I would have used expectation lives instead of expectation leaves but then, I'm no poet. :)
