Some friendly folk in Kent share this.
    http://ebc.byu.edu

"The Early British Census (EBC) project brings the numerous disparate
    pre-1841
census records into one searchable database."

"The database currently covers large portions of Kent and greater London.
Additional regions will be added over time. Counties to be added in
2020-21: Cornwall, Dorset, Devon, and Somerset.

Don't all jump in at once, I'm still waiting for my first search to end :D

Thank you! I might even discover the identity of my 4 x great grandfather as the 1841 census is missing for Smarden in Kent, but the 1831 would be pertinent. ;)

Well! I knew that a several times great grandfather had died before 1841, but now I have found his widow in 1831! Narrows it down a bit. :)

I was thinking about this only a few days ago, and Lancashire Archives answered a query for me. For Lancashire they have
1801: Croston, Edgeworth and Turton, Elton (Bury), Liverpool, Whalley (part), Winwick
1811: Croston, Ashton, Great Bolton, Whalley, Wigan (part)
    1821 Bolton, Penketh, Eccleston, Broughton
    1831: Bolton, Penketh, Whalley.
There is also an old Gibson Guide "Local census Listings 1522-1930" by Jeremy Gibson and Mervyn Medyicott (Edit: Medlycott). It's a bit old (1992), but there may still be copies available.

What about Essex then, clearly being unbiased, I would have expected Essex to be next on their list. ;)

So that the link to the website is not lost, I have made this thread into a "sticky". :)

Thank you Jan, I still need to revisit, too many great sites appearing & so little time to see them all.
