Looking at her immigration into U.S. in 1912 a little more closely, it says destination. "Wellington, Ohio" United States Census, 1900 Ohio Lorain ED 93 Wellington Township Wellington village. George Truan,, 48 Eliza Truan, 44 Irena Truan, Granddaughter, 2 So these would be George Henry's parents and Sylvia's grandparents.
Searching on Ancestry I found that George F Truan, George Henry's father died on 6th August 1912. He actually died on 5th August. The date of the paper is 6th August (Tuesday) it says he died on the Monday. I asked on facebook for a lookup in the obituaries. Someone found his obit. Then I found it on FMP newspapers as I have a world sub. Here it is.
So if he died in the August, was George H and Rose Anna going over in the November to be with GH's mother, Eliza ?
He and Eliza are buried together at Greenwood Cemetery Wellington. Eliza died the next year. Find a grave
Off piste but, I had forgotten my password and I have been tryng unsuccesfully to change and log on and this was on top of an update on my family tree which when clicked wouldn't open Decided to restore computer to an earlier time and machine went blank Got daughter to help computer to get moving again.
I had found that newspaper report some time ago but not the one with his wife. I still can't find the report of the state of their place in the Cornish newspapers and the way they treated a child.
At last I found the dratted report!!! May 1890 and it was about George Frederick Truan and his wife Elizabeth Truan, spelt Truran. I don't know if I have posted this before to be honest. If these are who I think they are their blind son wasn't allowed in the US but George Frederck and his wife were.
I see Irena was the daughter of Roseline Truan, George Henry's sister. Baptised 15th July 1898 in St. Just-in-Roseland, Cornwall. Rosa Truan MARITAL STATUS: Single GENDER: Female AGE AT ARRIVAL: 22y ETHNICITY : English PASSENGER ID : 603836170274 DATE OF ARRIVAL : March 4th, 1900 SHIP OF TRAVEL : New York PORT OF DEPARTURE : Southampton I think they have the age wrong on her daughters immigration. Death certificate says born 18 October 1856 Find a grave says born 1855 And so much for the mathematician in me. She was 56 or 57 or whatever age is on census reports. Who knows George was born in various years 1846 and 1854 on Find a grave
