Greetings from Canada

Welcome Starlee, and Greetings from Tropical Far North Qld, Australia. I am sure you will love being here with us on this terrific forum which is not only informative and helpful, but very friendly too.

Probably no help, but I too have some Roberts from Liverpool. My gg grandmother Mary Roberts was born there in 1808 to parents Owen Roberts (1770) and Mary Birtles (1772). They were not actually Liverpool people, but seem to have moved there for work purposes. Owen came from Overton in Cheshire, and Mary Birtles from Macclesfield, which is where most of their family were born, and is where they returned to later in life. Although I have not established how and when, I presume that the Roberts originally came from Wales as it is a very common Welsh name, and many popped over the border into Cheshire over the years.

Consider it done...

Welcome to Top Dog Starlee C|:-)

Could I ask you to add a location to your profile please.

Hover over your name on the top bar, next to 'Inbox' and a drop-down menu will appear. Click on 'Personal Details' and scroll down to location.

This will help us by seeing where you are from and we won't try sending you to Kew to look things up. I know you have said you are from Canada in this thread but when you start posting your queries in another thread then that won't show. Thanks :)

A belated welcome from Brampton, Ontario. And the girl by name of Half Hour lives an hour north of me. My ancestors arrived in PEI from the 1820's on...from Scotland and Devon. I assume you have checked the Maritimes for possible landings...and Montreal. Good to have another Canuck on board!
