To our American members!
And from me!!
Thanks, Jan and Phillipa. No Mayflower ancestors, but plenty who pushed the natives off their turf (generational guilt).
Soon to go next door for large meal with stepson's bunch. I'm responsible for cornbread dressing (MIL's recipe), dinner rolls (brown and serve), and cranberry sauce (canned, jellied style).
Hope you have a wonderful meal GB
Thanks, Terry. It was very filling! We were sent home with enough leftovers for a few days. Homemade takeaway!
Cornbread dressing...hmm, had to look that one up. Not what it sounds what it should be. A dresssing over your cornbread? No. Hope you enjoyed your day.
Love anything cranberry
Sounds like you had a good day!
Always slightly envious of Thanksgiving Days. My American friends seemed to have a great time yesterday, going by their photos on Facebook.
My apologies, though, for the exporting of Black Friday. My email is flooded this past month with ads from anyone I ever made a purchase from or subscribed to online!
Even FMP is into the Black Friday thing.
And thanks @GrannyBarb its here too.
Gave into the Black Friday thing and bought a pair of boots.
Apparently the roads within miles of our two major shopping centres were gridlocked.
When I first heard of this Black Friday thing I had to check the calendar..No, it’s not the 13th.
Owen Sound is divided by a river that has 3 main bridges over it in the downtown core. The main bridge is being replaced and the highway is closed in that spot until this time next year. Most of the shopping ( malls, big box stores ) are on the east side. Hubby went to the west side yesterday and said there was no way he was going to fight the traffic to try to go for something he needed from the east side. We live south of the city so decide which side we want before we go! Black Friday is one tradition we (most Canadians) would happily have done without. but we don't blame you, @GrannyBarb ..its the almighty dollar that causes it.
