I've completed as far as possible the Harper branch of my tree. However there are some annoying gaps that I just cannot find info: 1.In 1718 Simon Harper married Anne Salicoe (or Caldecoe) on3 Sept. at St Andrew the Great, Cambridge. Unfortunately I cannot find his Date/Place of Birth or the names of his Parents

2.All my searches for any details of his Bride, Anne draw blanks.

I would be grateful if anyone can add any information that may help me with the above and any info on Harpers pre Simon's marriage in 1718.

    Thanks
    Bernard

I cannot find anything either. I found his Marriage to Anne and some baptisms for their children but nothing else. Have you thought of looking in the records office for that county? However you may not find anything or it may be completely unreadable - in any case it would be Latin. Not all BMD's were accurately recorded at such an early date Good luck with your searches. Perhaps one of the other members may have more luck. :)

Just had a look round with the same results as gillyflower.

I did find 4 marriages on Ancestry which if at Cambridgeshire might provide a clue, they are a bit strange because when they appear when searching for Simon Harper 1693 = & - 10 years they show as at Cambridgeshire.
However when opened the heading is"

At the top of the page which comes up it is headed e.g.
Martin Harper Sarath Penny in the Cambridgeshire England Extracted Parish Records

Book: Marriages at Curry Rivel 1642 to 1812. (according to my Road Atlas Curry Rivel is in Somerset.)

Collection: Registers of marriages Cambridgeshire 1539 to 1812.

Anyway here are the four marriages:
Richard Harper & Rachell Bullen 16 Nov 1618.
Thomas Harper & Mary Cooper 5 Nov 1633.
Thomas Harper & Isable Cook 22 Apr 1647.
Martin Harper & Sarath Penny 28 Sep 1647.

Isable & Sarath as spelled on Ancestry.

How reliable these are I have no clue but I'll leave it to you to note or ignore. :)

    PS actual parishes not named.

Wondering if perhaps he (Simon Harper) was born/baptised in a nearby county, eg Huntingdonshire, perhaps at somewhere like St Ives.

Cambridgeshire FHS Marriage Index shows Anne's surname to be CALDICOE. There is no baptism for a Simon HARPER on their Baptismal Index prior to the baptism in 1721 of a Simon HARPER at Teversham.

Looking for any baptisms for an Ann(e) CALDICOE or variants around 1695 on the Cambs FHS Baptismal Index, there is the baptism of an Anne CALDECOT at Trumpington in 1695. No other likely baptisms on the Index and as Trumpington is just on the outskirts of Cambridge, she could be a possibility, especially as I cannot find a likely marriage for her on the Marriage Index. Unfortunately, the Index does not give parents' names nor actual dates, so I'm afraid I cannot help further. Had you noticed that on the FreeReg Transcription of their marriage, it gives Anne's abode as Teversham which is very close to Trumpington?
