Hello from Devon

I was born in Plymouth, Devon, most of the relatives I am researching lived in Devon and Cornwall with one family in Somerset. The main main surnames in Devon are Pawley, Stoneman, Giles, Williams. The main surnames in Cornwall are Edgcombe(mostly dealt with by a gentleman who carried out a one name study) Finch, Pawley. The most odd one is Terkick (Maker area )spelt many ways but vanishing abt 1850. One of Stoneman family went to Durham, are we related to the cricketer with that surname?
