Hi. I live in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada. But I'm originally from NEWFOUNDLAND. My ancestors come from Netherbury. As far as I know! I'm descended from a THOMAS TRAVERS(E)..AUG 30TH 1774. his son Robert settled in Upper Small Point, nfld. Married a Mary King.- I havent gotten any insight to anything earlier from Thomas.. in my family tree I have found a john travers(dob 1734) father of thomas(dob 1774) and then the father of JOHN is richard(dob 1702)..i couldn't find anything before RICHARD. And I'm.not sure if the john and richard are connected properly to Thomas.. lots of records are hard to read and know for sure I'd be greatly appreciative if anyone can share some info. I plan to visit England hopefully in the next 2 years or so. Once a this covid stuff passes. I love historical buildings and ancestry. It all fascinates me, to where we came from. I've been watching OUTLANDER on netflix and it got me in the mood to research again, and make you wonder if there was a way to go back 200 years.. it sure is a BIG difference in quality of life and lots of rules. But the land is so beautiful..the culture.. i just can't get enough of it. I wish I lived in an area with historical structures around like England, Ireland and Scotland has.
