The 1911 census return for my great grandparents Wallace and Mary Brittain shows they had a child who died pre 1911. I have every confidence she is Ellen Brittain, who according to Family Search was baptised 16 December 1898 at SS Peter & Paul Aston, the daughter of Wallace and Mary Britton (sic). Her birth was registered March quarter 1899, Aston 6d 426, while what is almost certainly her death was registered in the June quarter of 1899, Aston 6d 253.

Does anyone please have access to the SS Peter & Paul registers to confirm the baptism date and to look for a burial December 1898-June 1899.

The baptism is on Ancestry. Details as on FamilySearch with additions. Address 100 Queen's Road. Wallace's occupation was a Postman.

Off to look for a burial.

An Ellen Brittain was buried 16 June 1899 at Aston Juxta. Only a transcription, though, so no other details available, just that her age was 0

    Will keep looking.

Ah, found it. Ancestry's Birmingham, England, Church of England Burials 1813-1964.

Ellen Brittain; Age 6 months; Abode 100 Queens Road. Buried 16 June - Aston, St. Peter and St. Paul.

Thank you so much. On occasions my nan would mention she had a little sister who died, but never gave any clues as to her age etc. Great granddad was still living at the same address when he was widowed 25 years or so later.
