Hunting for Green's and Otters!

Hello all
My research has taken a bit of a rest because of the brick wall I encountered, so in-between the searches I do a bit of transcription on other sites in the hope of not only finding something, but if not at least helping others who are searching.
It has been a frustrating couple of years. I got stuck on my g-grandfather John Green, born Rothwell, years on I now know there are a lot of John Greens and quite a few Rothwells! Going via the wife proved successful in the past but again stuck on Mary Ann Otter from Tallington, no record of her birth in the Otter family tree...so the search continues.
Look forward to reading all your posts and hearing your stories.

Hi Barbz.

Welcome to Top Dog - pleased you have joined us.

On freereg there about 26 Otter baptisms and on the marriages there is marriage witness Thomas Otter to Ann Green's marriage [for Tallington, Lincolnshire]. If you give us some dates and a bit more info we would love to help you in your research.

Welcome C|:-)

there are Otters in my tree (they don't really belong there as they are only loosely 'related' to me but sometimes I just don't know when to stop) however mine are from Dorset

Several baptisms in the name of John GREEN at Rothwell, Northamptonshire on my Northamptonshire Baptismal Index. What dates are you looking for?

Janet

Is this a coincidence or is this the marriage you already have (source Northamptonshire Marriage Index):

28 June 1825 at Duddington John GREEN of Normanton, bachelor, & Mary Ann OTTER, of the parish, spinster.

Janet

Hello Barbz, you have come to the right place for brick wall removal. This lot are amazing. Give them some dates and so forth and they will be off.
