Thank you both for looking, I am completely stumped as well and I cannot get into my Ancestry tree (I don't have a sub but there are the above extra details I wanted to add to the Wright family), for whatever reasons it will not recognize anything even when I create a new password and emailing them is a waste of time, I think I will have to try to phone them tomorrow

Best of luck, I tried this morning, and gave up after being on hold for over 15 minutes! So I cancelled my sub. online instead:p Will re-subscribe when I find a discount voucher, in a few days time:D.

Waiting for Ancestry to respond to my email which was allocated a case number early this morning.

In the meantime I may have found a death for Maud C Wright in Brighton in 1927 age at death was recorded as 37 - should be 48 if it is her but then she gave various ages on census and if it was her then presumably daughter Esther Lena who would have been 16 may not have known her mother's true age.. but I have no way of knowing if that is Maud hence I want to follow the Wright family and see if any descendant has any information... so I wait for Ancestry to sort out my Login problem.

That death is throwing out a connection to a Maud Chewter who married Edward Wright. Not necessarily correct tho'. Just another guess from Ancestry.
Is it known where Maud was born?
I have only found a Maud Caroline b.registered Dec. 1891 in Sunderland to a mother named Murray. Then again she may have been given the 2nd name at a christening.
She died in1983 according to a private Anc. member.

Hi received an email and I now have 3 Ancestry accounts - hv no idea how these things grow, so I did exactly as they said and that is the account I will use in future with their suggested password because it worked.
I updated the Wright family (thanks for the death explanation) but so far no tree connections other than one that is from what I can see hugely incorrect - what's new!!.
I too looked for Maud and Esther without any real success, without a sub it is impossible to see any details including any 1881 census - which I thought was to always remain free as per the LDS!! Not even a London school record for Esther Lena or vice versa - where did this child disappear to.
I found some Electroral Rolls for Lena Esther 1930's Twickenham and a possible Probate Lena Esther Wright Death Worthing 26/09/1963 - please can I ask for a look-up on these.

I did find a London school admissions for Violet Eveline but the birth date (3 July) is not correct (unless date on bapt is wrong), year is correct 1886
    - please can anyone do a look-up to see if her father was Charles John and their address
    Huge thanks in advance

Lena E Wright and husband George can be found in 1939 in Heston and Isleworth M B Middlesex - so she is likely to be the one you found on the Twickenham Electoral Rolls in the 1930's Hilda:(

Anc has the father's name as Freeman.

Thanks a million AnnB and MollyMay, interesting why Violet Eveline is so visible and Maud and her daughter Esther Lena are so hard to find... apologies for not answering sooner I did not receive the alert email on the above responses.
I am not sure if we have the correct Maud and family so I am going to add that Wright family into my Ancestry tree in the hope it brings a response from a descendant.

have you seen the court record in 1910 for Harry Kanapka a furrier accused of
feloniously stealing 200 black hare skins the property of Marcus Weinstien and another he pleaded Guilty and was to enter into his own recognisance of £25 with 1 surety of £10 for his appearance to her judgement if called upon.
guess he wasn't as nothing else stated.

Hi Sandie, many thanks for Hyman information, more below.

Think all the tree owners are all known to me and Paul (I have no sub). Paul and I are the ones with the most info (privately held) and we believe best researched most others are clones of only what we have put on our A... trees. Mandy's tree is a little different, we have never been able to find a connection between her GGF Israel and our Kanapka's but we now think he may be a nephew of Mannaseh/Moses but we can't prove it (but I think she has added the Colney Hatch Asylum photo of Manneseh/Moses without there being proof of a connection). Paul will be in Warsaw later this year and hopefully the conference will help with further research.

As for Hyman, I know he was allowed bail of 10 pounds regarding a case of conversion of skins for personal use from a newspaper report but have not seen the same report you mention which is much more detailed and maybe a follow on appearance. The Weinstein's are probably his mother's relatives who were the wholesale furriers and it seems at least 2 sons got into the fur business either thru them or with them can't say (Hyman and Israel/Isidor aka Irving Knapp who went to the USA... we have him well documented).. have no info on son Izak Hirsch aka Isaac.

Please can you tell me the name of the newspaper and date your article appeared in.
The one I have is the Islington Daily Gazette and North London Tribune of 21 Sep 1910.

There are only two documents that tie Hyman Kanapka aka Harry Wright to Maud C Wright and that is the birth of their child Ester Lena in 1910 and his death in 1920 in Brighton. I found a possible 1911 for a Harry Hayman and wife Maud C Wright and one of their lodgers married her sister 3 years later but I cannot prove this is my Hyman even though so much on that census matches and other "facts" are pure fabrication. No further documents for Maud or Esther have been found.....we believe we have found his grave in Brighton in the Jewish Cemetery but neither the headstone nor the register record anything except his name H Kanapka... really strange because Jewish headstones will normally say Chaim Eliasz ben Manase (meaning Hyman son of Mannaseh/Moses) and his birth date and death date. This headstone is small and under a bush, so even in death he was hiding away... sad for us.
