Isaac Bareham, born 1813, baptised St James, Little Clacton, Essex. Father Charles Bareham. I've been missing any further information for some time. Just now trawling through Family Search there is a reference to Isaac Bareham, Born Essex 1813, referring to Merchant Navy Records Ref BT112-116, 119-120, Series BT114. I've tried National Archives and it seems as if these records can be searched via Find My Past. I'm no longer subscribing to FMP. Could someone please look up? Many thanks Bernard
The only information in BT 114 is Isaac's name, the fact that he was born in Essex and his ticket number. There is no record of his age or year of birth to confirm that he is your chap.
Well have found what I think was his parents marriage, also his siblings and his parents burials but I'm blowed if I can find anything further on Isaac.
I came across an Isaac BARHAM (which is how your Isaac is spelt on the parish register transcription) It was the 1861 census and a married Isaac is 47 (1834) Master, British Ships in Home Ports but says born Lower Gran, Gloucestershire. That’s the closet I can find. Sorry found it yesterday and didnt jot anything else down.
Is it possible that Plomesgate Suffolk might play a role in Isaac's life. There are two marriages in Plomesgate and two deaths. I have found Little Clacton St James Burials 1813-1837 Essex and Suffolk. Does that mean that St James covers some of both counties? The death of Isaac BARHAM in 1900 Plomesgate has his age at 87 (1813) The death in 1897, also at Plomesgate has the age at 79 (1818)
Found him again (I think) in 1851 born 1812 age 39 married, mariner but this time born Sudbourn Suffolk. Wife Mary Ann. Event place Orford Suffolk. Page 30, 1802/457 HO107. There are lots of Isaac Barham's around but not many mariners.
Is the marriage of Isaac's parents....Charles Bearim and Elizabeth Potter 21/12/1794 St Edmund King and Martyr Tendring?
St James, Little Clacton is in the Diocese of Chelmsofrd, Essex. I've looked into Plomsgate but seems all references are within Suffolk. So possibly not linked.
Yes. I've all their details plus their children, EXCEPT Isaac. The spelling Bearim is wrong, for from mid 1600's there are several various spellings.
