The hottest New South Wales day on record today. At my house it is 46c so we got out a jigsaw puzzle and haven't put our noses out the door all day. Oh! Except when our fur baby 'needed to go'.
My petunias have wilted along with us.
    Roll on autumn.

Good heavens. I think I would have ended up like your petunias. 46C is a bit 'ot. :nailbiting:

I am just bracing myself to go to the farm looking like Scott of the Antarctic.

It's probably worse elsewhere. Our grandson was running in little athletics regional competitions today in Dubbo. That's way out west. I have no idea how hot it is out there. It's a very hot place normaly in mid summer but not humid like here. Poor kids. I hope it was cancelled.

I have nursed petunias along all summer but today they have nothing more to give. They're done. :(

Hi AM! Makes you wonder how our Government can still deny climate change and still want to mine coal doesn't it? Do hope you are not wilting too much. We are very lucky up here in Cairns as the rain (Monsoon season) is keeping the temperatures down a bit, and it was only 32C today. Much better than 46C you poor things. Keep safe! Diana

Oh dear AM, I feel for you and your petunias!!

We are certainly breaking some records here in Oz this week. On Thursday, here ion the West, we had our coldest February day since records began more than 100 years ago! Our maximum was 17.4C at 4pm. I will confess that it has been a nice break from our heat.

According to the local weather we will not make it 46 Fahrenheit today
3c if we are very lucky.
Try and stay cool AM, hope you enjoyed doing that jigsaw:)

It's summer. It's been happening here for eons. We aren't as tough as our ancestors. How they managed I have no idea. My grandmothers would be stuck in a kitchen with a fuel stove all day cooking 3 meals for a tribe of kids and a hard working hubby. I feel quiite ashamed when I complain.
The jigsaw is coming along but I feel it's going to be on the dining table for more than a few days. Every piece looks the same.

That's less than half of what it was and still is here. :(
Our little champ is coming 6th overall at little athletics and has to run the 100 metres tonight. Might have to start saving for 2024 Olympics :)

8.00 pm and the temperature has just dropped to 41c. Looks like Archie will be sharing his chill out mat tonight.

Hailstones here yesterday, today damp, miserable and cold .

I am fed up now of winter, but not sure I'd swap it for 46c

Floods in Western Australia and heat wave in New South Wales and southern Queensland. Me thinks that Dorothy Mackellar got it right in her poem: I love a sunburnt country. However, let's hope and pray there are no fires.

Yes, on balance, Lizzy, I'll take the sleet.

Snowing back home in the principality this morning - big feathery bits, I'm told. Hope it goes off as I'm up there later.

Our higher council tax down South is paying dividends as it's now stopped snowing :).

As with Mealymoo, 46 is too much .... 28 would be perfect :)

I'm with you Phil. I've lived here 40 years and the heat never bothered me until I became of mature age:D Now anything over 30 and I start to wilt!

Sorry, our weather has been very pleasant for February, except for dense morning fog most days. We will probably be wilting here by Spring. I'd send you a hug, AM, but the exchange of body heat might be too much!

We are 1C this morning.. pretty balmy for us this time of year. It was -19C the other morning. We are having a tease of Spring then more snow tomorrow. Not a lot..10cm forecast. I wouldn't want AM's temperatures as I find anything over the mid-thirties stifling in the Summer. We often have a day or three in the low 40's and it is awful. Try to keep cool, AM and don't worry about the puzzle on the table,..... You won't want the table... it is way too hot to eat anyway
