I have been looking for any information on the death James Connolly. He was born on 15 Mar 1886 in Lancashire but spent most of his live in or around Castleford in West Yorkshire. He was a coal miner. I know he was alive in 1939, as he is on the 1939 register together with his wife Mary Jane (nee Downing), who died in 1947. Relations/friends know that he was definitely not alive in the 1950s. He is believed to be buried in the Castleford Cemetry but we can find no trace of his death registration or his burial. Can anybody help please?

There is a burial for a James CONNOLLY on February 9th 1944, aged 57, which would fit with his birth date of 15th March 1886.

His grave number is 213 and is in section W of Castleford New Extension Cemetery.

To be fair, the corresponding death registration gives the surname as CONNOLLEY and the age as 67 rather than 57.
