    I saw somewhere that Abigail's age at death would mean she was born circa
    1754.
    It is possible Ann could be Abigail but I think it more likely that the relevant
    Registers are not online. Kent is not really my strong point, having no
    ancestry there that I know of.

    The 1775 Richard Jeffery is probably the 1753 son of Richard and Pheby.

    It seems to me that much of our search is stabbing in the dark until something clicks. I think there were 2 Richard Jefferys born in the 1750s in Wadhurst. The spelling of 'my' Jeffery is fairly consistent throughout the records I've found, but there is the odd Jeffrey or Jeffry, etc. What you've found is fascinating. Thank you.
    The articles on Gardeners was lovely, but I'd like to speak with the author about source material.
