.... but in the 1881 document, Zipporah (Green) is not married and neither is Harris (Green) ? (Probably all related though)

There is a bankruptcy for a Harris Green, tailor of Surry Hills dated 8/2/1898
Children of Morris and Leah Loader are...Philip 1892, Samuel 1895, Matthew 1897, Zipporah F 1899 (our little star mentioned in Jewish Newspaper) Linda 1901 and Alexander M 1890.
Also a certificate of Naturalisation 18/7/1899 for a Morris Green born Poland.
I’m wondering if both parents of Harris and Morris, Samuel and Rebecca, were actually born in Poland and Anglisised their surname.
Zipporah F married Ronald Gibney, Canterbury NSW in 1927

Alexander Morris Green son of Morris and Leah Green died in 1920 of tuberculosis. He became ill not long after joining the army in 1916 and never got to serve. There is another Alexander Morris Green who died in 1952. Both boys were Hebrew and both have attestation papers. They also lived not far from each other. One in Surry Hills and the other in Newtown. Morris son of Morris was a railway porter, the other was a tailor. How’s that for coincidence.
Leah was born Alice and died in 1915.

I meant to post this last night re Alexander A's marriage cert - sometimes the word deceased is all that is entered in the father's occupation column, so we might be unlucky on that count.

Also in the 1901 census for Samuel and Rebecca their son Harris (from 1881 census) is now called Harry - more anglising of their names perhaps.

Found Samuel and Rebecca Green and children in 1871 RG10/504/69/39 - at the same address as 1881:headbang:

Samuel Green (a boot & shoe rivetter) b1835 Russian Poland
Rebecca b1839, Emily, Cipra*,Morris - all born Russian Poland (which we know is incorrect) dittoed pob from parents
Fanny and Harris no pob given
    * Zipporah

In Samuel's entry there is a word after Poland, in the afflictions column, but I think it just might be the place in Poland where he came from

    Konin, Poland.
It would be really nice to know their Polish surname though.
Could be Grun but that’s from Germany so who knows.

This is all looking hopeful …. I don't suppose anyone has come upon a marriage after (say) 1890 of Zipporah Green marrying an Abraham B. Davis (probably in Australia) ?

Harris Green was made bankrupt in 1898 so a marriage to Abraham Davis would be after that. Maybe the whole family, Zipporah, Harris and Alexander left for South Africa together after that date. There is no death for a Harris Green in Australia that I can see nor a marriage to Abraham.

    This is getting soooooooo confusing.

I'm also communicating with the latest recipient of "the box" (all the photographs I received and then passed on).
Whilst searching today (following on from all your invaluable help), I came upon an EXACT copy of one of my photographs from "the box" on Ancestry but with a different name attributed to it. "Rose GREEN" …. no reply from a PM yet !

Rose GREEN was a sister of Zipporah !

OK, someone has an error (I don't think it's me but sometimes a negative can become a positive so it's immaterial who is wrong).

    The plot thickens :)

Zipporah GREEN, Born: Birmingham, Warwickshire, England.
Mother: Rebecca, Born: Russia 1836 (1881 census)

    "We" now need to find:
    Mother (Rebeccaa) arriving in England.
    Harris arriving in England.
    and Harris arriving in Australia.
and Harris, Zipporah and Alexander leaving Australia and travelling to South Africa.
AND … would Harris GREEN marry another Green (Zipporah) ?
