John Elliott "Apostle to the Red Indians".

The Fearless One. Rest in Peace.
Noticed in passing the baptism entry for the above mentioned person in the Widford Herts Parish Register, Herts Record Office ref # D/P 123 1/1

"John Elliott apostle to the Red Indians baptised 5 Aug 1604 [see window dedicated to him above the altar]." This note was in one of the last pages of the PR.

I wonder if he survived his mission or did he have a hair raising experience. :D

Down off the ladder. Quite a bit achieved today. I have jellylegs, up and down the ladder though.
A most interesting read about John Elliott and his Christian endeavours with the natives in Massachusetts. He died there in 1690.

Well I had to come down off the fumes before I could safely get down off the ladder :p
And now that you have led me astray down the wrong track......did you read about John Elliott. It was interesting reading as he was the first to have a bible translated and printed in America 120 years before Robert Aitken in 1782. His was translated into the local native tongue.
