I'm looking for information on John Sowter who married Mary Young. Sussex, England area. They had a son William Sowter who married Marie Smith and then Matilda Hallet. They had a son William Young Sowter who married Louise Elizabeth Smith. I just can't seem to find anything on John Sowter. Help?
1790 ish. I have, in the England and Wales Index of Wills and Probate William Young Sowter, who named his wife Jane Watson Sowter as his Executrix. William Young Sowter (I)(there are 3 more generations of William Young Sowters) is the son of John Sowter In the England Birth and Christenings, 1538 - 1975, William Young Sowter is listed as born to John and Mary. Actually now that I look at the census. William Sowter, son of John Sowter was 38 years of age in 1851 which would have meant he was born in 1813. Don't know if any of this helps or not. And I could be barking up the wrong tree altogether!
