How are we all holding up?
Still can’t get any flour, and forget disinfectant.
Thank goodness we don’t have a livelihood to lose.

I'm ok ta. Would have liked to do some more transcribing :reading: of the graves in the new cemetery but not sure that is essential work for the average Joe  but being a genealogist it's vital :). I have to go to the local supermarket this morning as stocks are running low in my cupboards, in fact they are empty :sceptical:

My daughter got me two Soy Linseed loaves today that will make four in my freezer so I'm set for a while, she even managed to get a two pack of kitchen paper rolls. At the moment we are managing to keep up our normal stocks but only just.

I'm being actively discouraged from shopping now, but I still walk down the local shops to get my takeaway coffee. I have a mask at the ready under my chin when I go for the coffee, the other day while waiting for my coffee some guy intruded into my social distancing space, I just stared at him and pointedly pulled my mask up, he got the message. :D

At least at the cemetery you don't have to worry about social distancing with the residents. :D

It's all very well being told to "Stay At Home" ... but there is a limit.
I understand (and agree with) the need for "Social Distancing".

So what the heck is the risk with being "isolated" in the car, then "isolated" in an empty graveyard or on a lonely moor/beach?

    This is ridiculous.
I've always supported the Police, but this makes me suspect ulterior motives.

I’m sure a cemetery walk is ok. It’s not like you are partying with the occupants. Social distancing wouldn’t be a problem either. Go on, do it. It gets you out in the fresh air.

I had a bit of a scare yesterday, I woke up with a slight sore throat, got the thermometer out, googled the normal temperature range, found I was 0.1 below the low end of normal, breathed a sight of relief. However, I did check it several other times during the day, this morning hardly a trace of a sore throat, must have slept with my mouth open or something. Any other time, pre Corona virus, I wouldn't have given it a second thought. :D

You have a thermometer in the house?

Nearest I can get is attached to the Wall Barometer ... and that's a bit big to stick under my tongue

Hope someone reports it, the government have said they will crack down on price gouging. I haven't heard them say they will do something about those gangs of Asians who are stripping shelves over here and sending the stuff back in container loads to China. Mind you the government did say, I think, they would act against hoarding and I think piling the stuff up in a warehouse could be construed as hoarding. The government has been deathly quiet about it, at least I haven't seen anything on TV about it.

Apparently, if you don't have a thermometer, if your chest or back feels hotter than usual it is a good indication.

Does not take into account hot flushes - or power surges as I used to call them...:sceptical:

Certainly do, can't remember why we have one, probably from the days when my wife and I were very involved with our grandkids, great days they were.

They are onto it. It’s now discribed as contraband. As such, is a criminal act and they acting accordingly. We just have to be alert. Use the camera on your phone, note number plates and report to crime stoppers.

Also, Port Kembla (steel works) at Wollongong has to be kept going as a by product of steel production are the gases used in hospitals. 80% of these gases in Australia come from that industry.

If some people are allowed to drive out in cars, others will too. Beauty spots will again be filled with crowds of the types who don't/won't appreciate the situation & don't understand how the virus is spread. More cars on the road = more potential for accidents or breakdowns & more contact with others & more risk to emergency service personnel. We are all safer at home.

Plus queues in petrol stations from people who are not willing to stand 2 metres apart.

My daughter took a short ride on her bike and said that more cars than usual passed her on a country lane.
They were probably avoiding the main road and police.

I understand your frustration- I'm a mad keen nature lover (got the posh binoculars to prove it)
You know you are sensible- I know I am sensible- but the police need to be able to keep control . And how can they tell who is sensible and where they are going?
You live in a lovely area and so do I- can't wait to be back out and about again.
