I know this thing can be devastating for people with underlying health issues but I think all in all we will get through. At least I might lose some weight.
Our cruise has been put on the back burner. We might go to Norfolk Island instead when the planes get back in the air. If Norfolk will let us in. Can’t waste the cost of two passports.

There was a few trays of other meat there but I didn't need them. Bread in supermarkets is low but the chain bakeries are still keeping up.

Supermarkets are now limiting any packaged items to 2 per customer to try and return to normality.

As they say, when life gives you scraps you make a quilt.
Or when life gives you lemons you make lemonade.
We will just have to make the best of it and I’m sure we will.

Just a thought. The next thing will be an epidemic of dermatitis from soap and hand sanitiser. :nailbiting:

My stepmother is already complaining that her hands were getting sore from washing them so much. She is aged 89, lives with my father (93 this year), has all groceries delivered and neither of them are going out. She was washing them every half hour... Told her to slow down.

Quoted from the Sydney paper today...’and if you can’t find something humorous in a bleak situation imagine Abraham Lincoln’s wife when she was asked, “apart from that Mrs Lincoln, how did you enjoy the play?”
Poor thing, slowing down to ‘back to normal’ would be a good idea. I don’t normally use the sanitiser but have been when out of the house. There’s no need at home at all. Gentle soap or sorbalene bar has served me well up until now.

    Interesting you mention that.

Woman on checkout at Woolies is sanitising in between each customer and said to me it is destroying her skin. She has skin conditioner with her as well but still being affected.

As we probably must when sporting bandaids on grated knuckles. Also what about some of the intricate engagement rings some ladies are sporting? How do you sanitise those?

Well, we went France on Thursday, abandoned ship and got back here last night. I said to himself, now we can get the garden done properly (we have to stay home for 12 weeks). He woke up this morning with a streaming cold. Pah! In the bit of French france we were in there was absolutely no shelf raiding, all completely normal. In other parts they are only letting one person into the supermarket at a time! Vast queues of people with trolleys around the block. Madness! All travel is banned for the next 15 days unless you can prove its essential, food, medical, work etc. You have to carry a permit and ID and evidence. If stopped a hefty fine. Glad to be back even if there is no toilet roll!

Woolies today had hardly any meat, especially any chicken, in Aldi I managed to buy a small tray of chicken thighs, which is better than nothing, their freezers were empty and so many empty shelves but I got my favourite coffee pods, the main thing though is there was no trouble, there's an awful lot on the news lately about people fighting over basics like loo rolls, I haven't seen any of them for over a week. Our prime minister has urged for all Aussie overseas to come home and for us all to stay at home, no more overseas travel for the time being, More people are being diagnosed everyday and im wondering if its only a matter of time before we end up in lockdown like so many other countries.

Even better if the toilet rolls were confiscated without compensation.

Just saw on ch.nine news when I took in his milo, vast shelves of toot paper along with the news that the footy will fo ahead. Nice for some of these money hungry toads. Be funny if no-one turned up to watch- but being melbourne where they like a bit of ball, they'll all be there cheering. :D

Toot paper also made here in Adleaide so no real problems other than getting it on shelves I guess.

The latest here in Western NSW, folks hiring buses and coming out here from the city to kindly empty our shelves.
One thing they may ponder on is that it is here in the country where the raw product for their food is grown. Not to mention the drought that near destroyed our farmers, the cost of imported feed for their stock, the fires, the floods. Selfish to the core. We can’t even buy back what we have broken our backs growing. I’m a bit ashamed to be called a human being at the moment.

 Just read of this on f.b. how utterly sick & selfish.
One in particular offering to pay $1 dollar per roll to buy toot paper for her to send back to where she came from
