Yes - and found a rugby player, a boxer and an opera singer, none of whom had a close encounter with a bull :D:D

Perhaps they meant 'resident of longer years than the bloke down the street' ? :D

Do you think they said old resident because (he lived in West Coolup) which was first founded in 1886 and was only appeared in the Gazzets in 1899, he moved there in 1898 so would be classed as a pioneer of the town. i.e. old resident. Mind you 65 years back then was old.

I was right. The 'old resident' is a reference to them being a pioneering family of Coolup.

Wonder why it says 6 sons and 6 daughters = 12 children....did one die? as the children on John and Susannah's headstone add up to 13.

The children were: - Beatrice, Jack, Eliza, Hilda, Hurtle, Lenora, Harry, Doris, Bethel, Ruth, Jim, Tom and Maggie

I was just thinking the same thing Jan. Should the thread be split? (I did one when you was on holiday, so don't ask me please)

I don't mind; I did a similar thing on "The Gravel", although the initial post was about an ancestor buried there.
