The Preface states: As we experience some of the warmest temperatures on record for the UK, Archivist Katharine Schofield finds out how hot weather affected some of our ancestors, using the voluntary rate book for Belchamp Walter, 1883-1920 (D/P 215/4/2) It's the ERO's document of the month and is about the drought in Essex in !905, considering the drought we have here especially in NSW I think the blog will be of interest to Aussies also. http://www.essexrecordofficeblog.co.uk
I especially remember the Summer of 1976, I worked on a large switchboard and we had fans along the top of the switchboard. Well, the tempreture was about 30C!! In the September of that year I arrived in Australia, that's when I found out what hot is!
