Once again I have found to my chagrin, that I have entered a chap in the wife box & made him a female without having entered his wife at the time.[Martyn episode].

I did similar once before & fixed it, don't want to delete him & start again as his dtr Ada is already entered along with her hubby & children etc.

Can anyone please suggest how to switcheroo & keep his same RIN number? would 'unlinking him from Husband' [remember I have him as the wife] & re-entering him as husband do the trick? This would not unlink from dtr Ada, & I may get to sneak him back in as an existing person.

Who started this genealogy stuff any hoo?

Would clicking on Edit and selecting Swap Husband and Wife work?

Chimp you made me splutter in my wine!!! :sceptical:

I have a lot of sympathy for Wendy's dilemma. I've only just started with Legacy because my old family tree program isn't working under Windows 10. I'd had it for years and was so familiar with it I could probably work with it in my sleep.

I am having a lot of trouble coming to terms with Legacy and while I like the way it's set up and set out I have yet to learn to find my way around it so I'm not yet enthused. I have sent out pleas for help from some of the rellies so I can re-get stuff I'd neglected to add (but had "saved" in a safe place in another computer but not backed up (stupid woman)). If and when said rellies come good with information I'll probably be in the same boat because I'll be bull at a gate trying to get my records up to speed in the shortest possible time.

Wendy, if you do find out "how to", do put it on here PLEASE!! I'm bound to need it and probably sooner than later.

Do you mean to tell me that Chimp wasn't just being Chimp - that it was a serious and sensible suggestion? :nailbiting:

    Indeed so.

You're our legacy from the past Chimp. Your suggestion was right on the ball. My problem was in clicking on the mans name & then trying to edit instead of editing from main family page.

In this regard Dave, It's a Genealogy software programme. -google it.;)

One [or two] good thing/s, if your people were in London or Surrey, you can always check on the Electoral rolls, if you have the right subs. ;)
