    Help please to find the Asylum in 1891. I'm looking for a possible patient Maria Cook(e).

    This became the Towers Hospital,the records are held at the Leicester and Rutland record office,unfortunately the records are in a terrible state but you could email them to see if they have any info, recordoffice@leics.gov.uk

    The 1891 census for the asylum begins at RG 12/2542, f.145.

    (in Ancestry see Leicestershire > St Mary > District Leicestershire and Rutland Lunatic Asylum).
