Welcome, Jackojm and thanks for your post.

I've been somewhat preoccupied for the past few months , but can honestly say that I have NOT been able to link Daniel's parents to William Nixon and Mary Rowledge.

With the new interest, maybe we can resolve.

Have just rediscovered my Nixon's and would like to enlist some help with fine-tuning this branch of my tree.

    Thanks, Sue.

Have just seen an item on Ancestry for a Hat Manufacturer - Samuel Nixon and Sons [1784]. Have no idea what this amounts to but seems to be possibly connected to my lot. Any ideas on how I can proceed to develop this line?

Just something to occupy my mind whilst I'm undergoing dialysis.

E-Book The History Topography & Directory of Warwickshire 1830 page 730:
    Directory of Rugby and Surrounding...
    William Nixon, hatter.
Tried to copy it but it wouldn't work. At least we know that a Nixon was a hatter in Rugby at the time.
Also The London Gazette Part 2 1835
The Court For the Relief for Insolvent Debtors
Henry Nixon, formerly of Windsor Court, Rugby, Warwickshire, Hatter and late of Union St & Sheep St, Rugby, Hatter.
Not sure how they fit, if at all as there seem to be loads of Nixon hatters in Rugby.

    Hello re
I am a new member so not sure if following correct procedure.
Am also descended from Nixons/Rugeley - believe burial 23 Dec 1787 may be that of Samuel son of Thomas Nixon [1742] & Ann Owel. Bap St Augustines, 21 Dec 1787, buried 23 Dec 1787. Ref: FreeReg - Staffordshire. Think Thomas b/1742 brother of Samuel b/1737.
