The abpve is the daughter of James Bennetts and Grace T Bear. She was baptised 20 Jan 1871 at Kilmeny,Argyll, Scotland. Her parents were originally from Cornwall travelled to Scotland,Wales and Devon. The last that I can find Margaret is with he parents in 1881 at Pen Y Bryn, Halkin, Holywell, Flintshire, Wales with parents and siblings. I have no idea where she is after that time.
Strange, isn't it - my family came up from Devon, and I was brought up a mile from Halkyn (old spelling Halkin). I wonder why so many people made the move north to Flintshire at that time. Will have a look for Margaret.
From Free Cen.1891. Maggie Bennetts. 18 born St Just. General Servant. Living in household of John Boyns, No 1, Lafrowda Villa, Green Lane, St Just in Penwith. Worth considering? (Probably not. I see 4 Margaret Bennetts born Penzance district 1872-4)
I found that and the 4 Margaret Bennetts. I was wrong in thinking that with Jemima as a middle name would help. The surname spelling changes as well and that doesn't help.
So did I, yesterday. I also thought 'Jemima' would be helpful. I had a good dig yesterday but couldn't find her. I even wondered if she might've been in Halkyn graveyard with sister Ursula but I couldn't find her. I'm planning a visit anyway to Halkyn when restrictions are lifted so will keep an eye out for Bennetts but doubt there will be any headstones if they were ordinary leadmining folk.
Thanks for the offer but I can't see them having headstones can you? I have looked in the newspapers hoping for their names to pop up but at the moment I haven't had any luck. 10 children an I can only find 5 deaths at the moment.
