    I remember Dorothy Dinney and that House. She’s was a cousin of mine. And the house that the other Thorns lived in - Cliff Cottage is where I grew up. How come you are asking after her ? Are we related ? William Thorn is my grandfather

    My research leads me to believe that Philip Howard Dinney was my 2nd cousin 2X removed.

    Oh I see. I think we must be quite distant cousins then. Dorothy Dinney was my first cousin 2 times removed and Philip would have been the husband of my second great aunt. Think I got that right - took a bit of thinking that. I remember going to the Victoria House when Dorothy was still alive. Really totally lovely person.
