I have William Fellingham and Emma Freeman in the FreeBMD Index, and the England, Select Marriages (dataset on Ancestry), but the data doesn't quite gel

    FreeBMD
William Felingham and Emma Freeman Jun 1862 Hoxne RD

    England, Select Marriages
William Filingham and Emmer Freeman 12 Sep 1862 Metfield

obviously if they married in Apr-May-Jun they can't have married in September o_O

just wondered if anyone can find the details in a different database and clear this up ...

No luck with FMP they use the LDS Select Marriage Index, so give the same information and confirm the FreeBMD entry on their Civil Marriage Index :headbang:

    All rather odd!

    Thank you for looking :)

Of course the error could be in the transcription, or the marriage could have been wrongly filed by the GRO. I'd think about getting the marriage cert if they were more closely related. Maybe one day when I am feeling rich

Family Search have the September William Filingham and Emmer Freeman as 21 September 1862, not 12 September.

Familysearch says there are images to view, but you have to go to one of their libraries.

Perhaps the banns were read earlier but the marriage didn't happen for some reason so they married later.

I had a look at Metfield marriages 1862 on FS. Of these there are some others where FS transcriptions do not correspond to the Free BMD record.
James Flaxman/Emily Catchpole June 1862 on FS, June Q1861 on FBMD (wrong year)
    Samuel Whiting/Hannah Swan Oct 1862 on FS, Dec Q 1861 FBMD(wrong year)
    Robert Buggs/Ellen Woodgate Oct 1862 FS, Dec Q 1861 FBMD(wrong year)
