While viewing some persons who have same family as me I note a different husband for my Gt.Gt. Aunt Elizabeth Charlotte Phillips. She married in 1865 at Trinity Church Tottenham. Father William, who was at the time a Brewery worker.

My interest today is in a witness whose name has come up as similar to one in my DNA matches. I thought ( giggle) I may be able to track the family as a tie in to mine. If you can help with this almost obvious signature I'd be chuffed. Nothing like a good old co-incidence to help fill the day.

This inverted copy may help. I see James Aitkins, but without the first i dotted. Or it may be that he had some sort of a hiccup, not literally, when signing between the 'a' at the 't'. Like when you sign for something and it doesn't come out quite right! (Well, James Aitkin witness 1865 marr. Phillips.JPG I do that sometimes:rolleyes:).:)

My first thought was James Aitkinson, but have to agree it could be James Aitkins.
I hope no one ever has to try to work out my name from my signature!:(

Oops. Now I've had another look and can almost see Wilkins, but I think I'll go with my earlier guess.

Thanks Sis & Libby. Yes Libby please do stop as I really want it to be Aitkins. :D
I didn't even stop to do that as so much was going on- [ & on ]- in my world online. I've ignored my Irfanview lately. :)

You're welcome Sis, recommended it was for transcribers of Freebmd. I've found it very useful when I remember to use it ;)
