I am ploughing through the Nicholas Clymo and Mary Cock children.Sometimes with better luck than others.
Mary Clymo born 1826 and with mother and siblings in 1841 marries Henry Carter 24 Jun 1844 at Gwinear and the witnesses are Thomas Bailey and John Carter.
The bridegroom lives at Roseworthy Wood and the bride at Camboren but most likely at Penponds.
A son is born names Henry Carter in 1844 but FMP has Henry Carter as first name and surname Carter. Whether he is called Henry Carter Carter I don't know because I can't find them after the marriage.
Did they emigrate as her sister her sister Sarah did.
    All help appreciated.

I have Carter's on my paternal and now my maternal side and I wonder if they were related to each other having come from Roseworthy.

I have looked the manifest that Sarah Bailey's name is shown and below was Henry and Mary Carter who I am sure will be Sarah's sister but I can't see who these are.
    upload_2021-6-5_10-19-37.png
Henry and Mary had Henry born 1844 and Grace born 1846.
The son Henry is on the manifest and he 3 years old. and why is there a cross beside the last child?
Copied ftom Sarah Clymo Bailey's post:
    Departure Port: Falmouth, Jamaica
    Arrival Date: 29 May 1848
Arrival Port: New York, New York, USA
    Ship Name: Roger Sherman

The two names you can't read are, I think, John and Jane and the other says '8 trunks, bedding etc' :)

I wonder if the X denotes that Jane died on the voyage?

United States Census of 1850 has Henry Carter 31, Mary 29, Henry 6, John 5 and Jane 1, Jane born Wisconsin. The town of Dodgeville Wisconsin, Henry is a miner. So it seems the first Jane has died on the voyage as Ann suggested. Down the page further is 49 year old Mary Cock, son Richard 18 a miner and daughter Kitora age 12, all born England. Do you think this is Mary Cock her mother?

Also on the ship is a Henry Clymo 40, wife Ann 40, James 13 and Mary Ann 4, Henry is a merchant and the family are travelling cabin.
So if these are yours too then here they are. If not just disregard.
Two other miners John Carter 28 and Charles Cock 33. I was there so thought I would include all of these, just in case.

1860, Mary is 38 and seems to be widowed as Henry isn’t there. Son Henry is 16, John 15, Jane 11 and there is a Sarah who is 8 born Wisconsin.
1870 Henry is alive and well age 51 and now a farmer, Mary 49, Henry 25, John 24, Sarah 18, Mary 16, Eliza 14, Liby 10 and William 4.

Will there be records of death on board ships?
Mary's mother married Nicholas Clymo in 1819 at Penponds,Cornwall.
Mary and Henry has a daughter Grace Cock Carter-post 2. I suppose she died.

    1880 census .
I think that I have found Henry age 35,Born England and the next two born Wisconsin Elizabeth A age 24 and William B age 14. Still in Dodgeville.
1880 There is also Henry Carter 55 a widower born England with daughter Elizabeth 19 born Wisconsin.
Henry is father-in-law and above is john Thomas and wife Jane and children. Maybe Henry's daughter Jane?

Findagrave has Henry Carter born 1819 died 1890 and Mary Carter born 1821 died 1879. Buried at East Side Cemetery,Dodgville ,Wisconsin.
No idea if they are mine because Mary's age is out by 5 years. A rather large memorial stone.
Familysearch has Sarah Carter Predeau complete with birth date which is useful if she is the correct family. She died in Hurley,Iron County,Wisconsin.Should Predeau be Prideaux ? Can't see the original.
There is also a death of Mary Carter reed with Henry and Mary as parents.
    But no Mary from Cornwall.:headbang:

I am not sure where I found this -There is also a death of Mary Carter Reed with Henry and Mary as parents.because all I can find is a death of Mary Reed who was born in 1819.
I may be about the Prideaux surname because I have just found this http://genealogytrails.com/wis/iowa/biosP.html
