Looking for information on the name of McCurnin.
John McCurnin married a Jane McDonald/MacDonald and cme to the USA in the late 1850's. Can trace forward but not back to Ireland.
They were rumored to come from several places, but I do not know exactly where. My grt grt grandfather Joseph Aloysius McCurnin was born circa 1857 and died in 1907. He had many children. He married Mary Catherine Byrnes, who came to USA in the 1860's. Her mother was Bridget McGlinn and her father was Michael Byrnes.
    Please help. Thanks
    Pat Snyder

    Hi Pat,

What information do you have that leads you to think that they came from County Mayo?

A lot of records have been lost in fires in 1922. Anything earlier than 1845 is going to be very hard to find, though some have survived. You need to verify what area your relatives came from, from the USA records.
