A body? I must have missed that one, I found an article where he apparently had not returned one of his kids to their mum.

Weekly Times Sat 9th April 1910
    SKULL FRACTURED.
    A YOUNG MAN'S DEATH.
At the Morgue on April 2 the Coro
ner (Dr. Cole) reopened his inquiry, ad
journed from March 22, into the circum
stances surrounding the death of John
Albert Coate, 29 years of age, a sales
man, residing at 90 Gipps street, East
Melbourne, which occurred in the Mel
    bourne Hospital on March 20.
The deceased wad discovered lying on
the lawri at Gipps street, by Constable
Strachan early on the morning of the I
day of his death. He was removed to
the Melbourne Hospital, where he was
found to be suffering from -the effects of
drink and a cut head. The deceased
died on the night of his admission.
The Coroner was not satisfied at his
    preliminary inquiry that deceased had
    been accidentally hurt, and accordingly
    adjourned the inquiry.
    Constable James Strachan, stationed
at East Melbourne, stated that about
3.45 o'clock on the morning of March
    20, while on his beat, he discovered the ;
deceased lying on a lawn in Gipps :
street, at the back of the Public Offices. !
He shook the deceased, but could not j
rouse him, and on lifting his head,
found it covered with blood. Witness
then conveyed the deceased to the Mel
    bourne Hospital.
Dr Cole, remarking that even . after
the adjournment of the inquiry the evi
dence was not as conclusive as he could
wish, recorded the following verdict: —
    I. find that in the Melbourne Hospital
on March 20, John Albert Coate died
from compression of the brain, the result
of hemorrhage from fracture of the skull,
due to violence. There is no evidence
to determine the exact nature of the
    violence.

    AFTER A DIVORCE.
    A CHILD MISSING.
    Melbourne, July 22
A writ of attachment was issued in the
Practice Court to-day for the arrest of
    James Arthur Herbert Strachan, formerly
of East Melbourne, constable of police. On
May 20 last a decree nisi was made for a
dissolution of marriage in a suit in which
    Violet Rosamond Strachan, of McKean
street. North Fitzroy, was the petitioner,
and the present defendant the respondent.
The custody of the two children of the
marriage was given to the petitioner. Latef
on complaint was made to Mr. Justice
a'Beckett that the husband had failed to
hand over the boy to his mother. His
Honor accordingly made an order that the
respondent should within 14 days hand
over Gordon Arthur Strachan to the peti-
tioner, and that the respondent should be
attached for contempt of court. To-day
Mr. H. T. McKean, on behalf of Mrs.
Strachan, applied to Mr. Justice a'Beckett
for a writ of attachment against the re-
spondent. Counsel intimated that in ac-
cordance with the terms of the court's
order advertisements had been inserted in
the metropolitan daily newspapers, but no
intelligence bad been received, and it was
not known where the defendant was.
His Honor made an order that a writ of
attachment should be issued against James
    Arthur Herbert Strachan.
