    I can't find Myra in 1871.
Myra married John Brace in 21 May 1877 at Sedgley Parish Stafford
1881 Myra born 1848 is living with her husband John Brace born 1836 and their son John H Brace born 1880 at Spring Hill, Hasbury, Stourbridge, Worcestershire, England. I have found the family in 1891,1901 and 1911.
In 1861 Myra Tromans born 1853 is living with her father Thomas Tromans and her stepmother Elizabeth in Phillack, Cornwall. Thomas dies in 1863 in Cornwall
By 1871 Myra's stepmother has remarried and she is living with Charles W Southorn and her children at Maughan Street, Kingswinford, Stourbridge, Worcestershire, England.
By this time the childrens' spelling has changed to Thomas from Tromans but no Myra.
Myra's year of birth changes througout each census but her place of birth which was Cradley stays throughout.

Sorry, looked and there seems to be plenty of Tromans some with very odd names. I think maybe her name has been wrongly transcribed - but as what? Can't find a Myra at all. Perhaps it has changed to a Mary or Maria. But none of them seemed right. I just found a Myra Thomas in South Brent Devon, but unfortunately she was too old (1841) and married,

I am doing this as a favour for a friend.
She tells me that the grandfather was called William.

There is a non conformist baptism of a Thomas Troman - no 's' (6/1/1822 at Cradley) s/o of Ruth and Joseph, but if your friend has proof the father's name is William then this Troman family is not hers:(.

Is your friend certain the above are her ancestors in 1861. Does she have Myra's marriage and/or birth certificate which gives her father's occupation, and name of mother? Or could this be them in 1861?

I'm getting very confused now, the above Joseph Tromans is landlord of the "Boat Inn". As is Thomas Tromans in 1881.

Maybe this marriage is for a different Thomas and Phoebe???

I can't believe how popular the name Phoebe is in the area!

I have to leave it now hoping I haven't confused everyone - I've certainly managed to confuse myself.

Unless your friend has some certificates I do think she'll have to invest, could some be online, do FMP have Staffs parish registers? I no longer subscribe to FMP.

My thoughts ldo Lizzie, spent some time looking this morning but had an appointment. this came up in Family Search:
    Myra Troman
    christening:18 July 1852
    CRADLEY, WORCESTER, ENGLAND
    PTs:Thomas Troman +Phoebe
A Phoebe Tromans died & was registered in Stourbridge, Mar. 1850 [FreeBMD]
Also one in Phoebe Troman, Warwickshire-Aston. Sep 1853

Trying to find Myra /Mira later mostly turned up - for me - in Dudley- & not in 1871. I tried all names no surnames No first name various spellings.

FreeBMD has not starters for Myra/ Mira Troman/s other than this one:
    Births Sep 1852
Mira 1849 & two Mirahs in 1851 Dudley.
I wonder if she was with her G'Parents in 1871? or just working out of the area. Not every one was religious in entering servants names correctly.

    1891
Mirah Tromans single, b. 1852 Cradley, Staff's is still in Stourbridge

I forgot to add this, just a wwild contemplation if Myra & John Brace had shared a home earlier.:
    Name: Maria Brace
    Age: 23: c.1848
    Relation: Inmate
    Gender: Female
Where born: Old Swinford, Worcestershire, England
    Civil Parish: Kingswinford
    Ecclesiastical parish: Wordsley
    RG10; Piece: 3030; Folio: 127; Page: 5
    ...
Not found a Maria Brace b. Worc's, but sometimes people fibbed.
[she doe appear on 2 Ancestry trees.]

In case it helps anyone, there is some information in an earlier thread Thomas, Phoebe and Myra Tromans where genie was looking for Thomas's mother and the whereabouts of Myra after 1861.

It would probably be helpful to know which facts genie's friend is sure of and what evidence she has. Then as already suggested above, some certificates may need to be bought.....

I think this Myra is possibly the daughter of Maria Troman who married Thomas Clee and is with Thomas and Maria in Dudley in 1881.

    That is Myra,not Mary J.
Going back to my first post ,my friend is basing the marriage between Myra and John Brace on a marriage that she found online where it states that Myra's father is Thomas.
Unless there is another Myra whose father is Thomas and is the corrrect age, I presume that there is a chance she is the right woman.
I found the other Myra who is a spinster.
