I'm trying to unravel a mystery on my wife's ancestors,

Using birth and marriage certificates, and census I have got back to a Robert ROBERTS marriage to Hannah MORRIS in Mold, Flintshire on 6 May 1854. Both were recorded as full age so would (possibly) have been born in the early 1830s.
Hannah's father was recorded as Robert MORRIS a Shoemaker.
I originally thought that Robert married a lady named Elizabeth Chambers but that was possibly proven to be incorrect when I studied the 1871 (RG10; Piece - 5646; Folio - 44; Page - 34) census for Hannah (now a widow) and saw a Mary MORRIS listed as 'MOTHER". born in Ruthven, Denbighshire

I cannot find any early (1841 or 1851) census records for Hannah's parents Robert and Mary - any ideas, help greatly appreciated.

You've probably discouned this one, but there's a Robert (cordwainer) and Mary Morris and children in the 1851 census HO107, Piece 2501, Folio 31, Page 21.

I hadn't seen that one, so thanks - I'll have a closer look when I've finished making dinner and then doing the dishes (weekends I'm in the kitchen, giving my wife a break)

Well I had a look and it is a "possibility" that Robert and Mary are Hannah's parents even though she is not on the census return based on Robert's occupation. And there is a gap in the ages of the children leaving me to think that if there were siblings in between John (19) and Ellis (9) they could be elsewhere - if they were still alive that is. I have found a record for a Hannah as a servant in Edine Parry's house in Mold in 1851. Robert was recorded in Halkyn which is not too far from Mold. All the other Roberts that I have found were either miners or blacksmiths.
Need to keep on searching though as this link is only an assumption.

A coincidence, or proof that Robert and Mary were the parents of Hannah?

I was looking at the 1861 census image for Robert and Hannah Roberts (nee Morris) and noticed that the persons recorded on the next lines were Mary MORRIS, born 1830 in Ruthin, Denbighshire and her brother Ellis MORRIS, born 1842 in Halkin, Flintshire - Ellis is mentioned in my post above!

I looked up Mary's birth and on the Parish Register her father was recorded as 'Shoemaker'.

So I am going to add these people to my wife's family tree until proven otherwise.
