Hi everyone,
I am researching my mother's family - Stubbings - and I just started this project last year but have had to put my research to one side for nearly 6 months so I am grateful for your help whilst I stumble around again!

My mother's family comes from the Taradale area, Victoria, Australia and before that, Essex, England. I mostly know the Australian bit (even though everyone had lots of children and seemed to call them all John or James or Mary), but I am struggling a bit with my English ancestors.

Have a good old rummage round and post your queries, perhaps starting with the Essex forum. Please pop into your profile along the way and complete the Location box and then we will know that it is not very realistic for you to make a day trip to the Essex Records Office in Chelmsford... ;)

Thank you all, it's great to feel so welcomed. I'm sorry about the delay in getting started but I had a bit of an accident a few weeks ago and it has interfered with my activities a bit. I'm off over to Essex forum as Jan suggested.

Essex seems to be the flavour of the month here. Lots of luck with your searches.
